A 26-year-old woman was arrested from a slum area of Sweeper Lane in Shillong on Wednesday by the police Anti-narcotic Task Force (ANTF).

The police seized 99.21 gram of heroin, 51 empty vials, 13 soap cases, one mobile phone and one Aadhaar card from her possession, SP (City) Vivek Syiem said in a statement on Wednesday.

“The drug supplier is the same one which appeared on the video at GS Road near Bimola Junction which had gone viral and caused public consternation for open sale of drugs,” the police officer said while adding that the hunt is also on for other drug suppliers in the area.

A case has been registered at the Shillong Sadar police station under the NDPS Act.
