Three individuals hailing from Ukhrul district, Manipur were arrested by Nagaland Police near Viswema Y-Junction of Kohima-Pfutsero-Imphal. Suspected Ganja was found in their Dimapur bound vehicle on Thursday, police sources said.
Police said on Thursday around 9 pm, Nagaland Police personnel of Narcotic Cell PS Mobile unit, performing routine frisking and checking of suspected vehicles at NH-2, intercepted a Dimapur-bound vehicle B/R No. HR51AU/5006 (Renault Duster) near Viswema Y-Junction of Kohima-Pfutsero-Imphal, which was coming from Imphal, Manipur, stated a release.
A thorough search of the vehicle resulted in recovery of 200 Kgs of suspected Ganja which were found wrapped in black polythene, it stated.
Accordingly, three occupants of the vehicle namely, Amon Raingam ,52, son of Lt Lungrei Raingram, V/o-Phaalee, from Somdal, Ukhrul district; Ng Masotmi ,42;son of Ng Katui, V/o-Phadang, from Somdal, Ukhrul district; Holichan Shinglai ,53, son of Prangke Shinglai, V/o-Kasom Khullen, from Kasom Khullen, Ukhrul district, Manipur, were arrested and the illegal contraband along with the vehicle duly seized, it further stated.
A case, vide Narcotic Cell Police Station Case No.10/2022 U/S 20 (b) (ii) (c)/60 NDPS Act, has been registered for further investigation, it added.
