Tight security measures have begun in Kohima as a part of the preparations for the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home minister Amit Shah, BJP president JP Nadda and others in the Nagaland capital. These central leaders will be attending the swearing-in ceremony of Nagaland chief minister on March 7.
It can be mentioned here that Neiphiu Rio was unanimously elected as the leader of NDPP. The party won 25 seats in the 60-member Nagaland legislative assembly in the just concluded election. NDPP coalition partner BJP won 12 seats.
Meanwhile, in view of the security measures being undertaken such as restrictions on the movement of people and vehicles in various parts of Kohima on account of the scheduled arrival of the Prime Minister and dignitaries for the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Minister and the Council of Ministers on March 7, it has been notified by the concerned authorities that all schools located in the Nagaland capital will remain closed on the day. However, those schools where students appear for examinations shall function as usual.
Further, schools located outside the limits of Kohima may function as usual. Heads of those schools have been informed to check the traffic advisory issued by the competent authorities and advise students accordingly.
