The Nagaland Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has informed presidents of all recognised political parties and 'registered unrecognised political parties' not to upload their advertisements on social media without obtaining precertification from the concerned authority.

"It was stated that some political parties were uploading advertisements in electronic media without obtaining prior certification which is against the Supreme Court order of April 13, 2004 and standing instructions of the Election Commission of India. Therefore, any kind of advertisement in electronic media requires precertification from the committee before publication," the CEO said.

In this regard, chairman of Precertification Committee and the Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Ruokuovituo Khezhie has requested those political parties who had uploaded their advertisements e.g theme songs, campaigns songs etc., without pre-certification to immediately remove the contents from the platforms and submit to the committee for certification.
