Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly Sharingain Longkumer has elected as the chairman of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region, Zone-Ill and also president of North East Regional Institute of Parliamentary Studies, Training & Research (NERIPSTR).
Following this, officers and staff of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat have organized a felicitation programme in honour of Sharingain Longkumer on Thursday in the conference hall of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat in Kohima.
The Speaker in his speech extended his heartfelt gratitude to the CPA for trusting him with such responsibility and he believes that through collective effort, all tasks that lie ahead would be tackled efficiently.
He also lauded the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for the clarion call to make "our state strive for excellence". He also urged all the officers and staff of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly to continue to work collectively and propel towards setting spectacular standards and he is certain that through the cooperation of the Deputy Speaker by his side, they would achieve all the objectives.
