Nagaland government committed to youth empowerment through games and sports: CM Neiphiu Rio

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Saturday said that state government is committed to the empowerment of youth through games and sports.

The chief minister inaugurated Loyem Memorial Astro Turf Ground in Tuensang on Saturday and said the government is in the process of developing new and modern sports infrastructure in different parts of the state.

CM Rio also urged the young people of Tuensang to dedicate themselves to reaping the benefits of the Loyem Memorial Astro Turf Ground while expressing hope that the district will soon produce sportspersons of international calibre.

"I urge the young people of Tuensang to dedicate themselves to reaping the benefits of this facility and there will be no doubt that the district will soon produce sportspersons of international calibre," the chief minister tweeted.

Earlier in the day, the chief minister also inaugurated Sovima Police Station in Chümoukedima. With this the Police Commissionerate of Dimapur now has a total of 10 police stations and two traffic controls, the chief minister said in a tweet.

In a series of tweets, the chief minister said the creation of Sovima Police Station would reduce police response time considerably, and ensure increased visibility of police personnel in the area.

I am sure this will bring about a sense of security to the citizens and also act as a deterrent for any anti-social activity," the chief minister wrote on Twitter.

The chief minister urged all police personnel to be sensitive in dealings with the public, treat all with dignity and compassion while showing zero tolerance to law breakers.

"I urge all police personnel to continue to render their best possible service with dedication wherever posted, be sensitive in our dealings with the public, treat all with dignity & compassion while showing zero tolerance to law breakers & maintain the highest standard of conduct," CM Rio tweeted.
