The Nagaland Police conducted operations that led to the detection of various cases related to arms, narcotics, and criminal activities across several districts of Nagaland in recent times, an official statement said on Friday.
During the period, under the Arms Act, three cases were registered in Dimapur, resulting in the arrest of four individuals found in possession of firearms in violation of the law. The recovered items included firearms and live rounds.
In a parallel effort, 25 cases were registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in districts including Mokokchung, Wokha, Zunheboto, Kiphire, Tuensang, and Mon.
Authorities confiscated quantities of brown sugar, heroin, prescription medications, and cough syrup. Thirty-five individuals were apprehended in connection with these NDPS cases, the statement said.
The report also highlighted cases related to extortion, involving the unlawful acquisition of money, leading to arrests and the recovery of pertinent evidences, the statement added.
