The Film Forum Manipur on Saturday staged a one day sit-in-protest decrying the act of Assam Rifles against an actor who raised his voice in the media calling to solve the present crisis and to bring back normalcy.
Vice-chairman of the Film Forum Manipur, Oken Amakcham, told the media at the site of the protest held at Tantha College, Lamphel in Imphal West on Saturday that one of the fraternities of Film Forum Manipur, Maheshwor Thounaojam, who is an actor in Manipuri films, raised his voice regarding the present turmoil in Manipur.
As a representative of the film fraternity, he raised his voice about the present situation of the state to bring back normalcy by meeting central leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, he added.
He appealed to the Assam Rifles to withdraw the legal notice immediately and further appealed to the authorities concerned and both state and central government to bring a solution to the present crisis.
Similar protests were seen demonstrated at various parts of the state.
Meira Paibis of various localities, including Khagempalli Huidrom Leikai, along Mayai Lambi and others were seen demonstrating the protest demanding to withdraw the legal notice served against Maheshwar Thounaojam.
