Solan Jajo secured fourth position in Miss Asia Women Model Physique competition held at the Republic of Maldives on Monday

In a highly competitive, glittering and entertainment packed Miss Asia Women Model Physique competition held at the Republic of Maldives on Monday afternoon, Solimla Jajo bagged the prestigious silver medal while Solan Jajo secured fourth position in the same category.

The two girls from Manipur, Solimla and Solan, represented India in Miss Asia in both junior and senior women model physique competition.

When the Imphal Free Press enquired about the duo to trainer, L Robert Meitei, who is also the principal of Ukhrul Central School (UCS) on Monday, he said that the two represented India in both the Miss Asia junior and senior women model physique event held on Monday at Cross Road, Maldives.

"Solimla was awarded a silver medal while Solan bagged fourth position in the same category," Robert said.

Robert further said that Solimla Jajo was the champion of Miss Manipur Model Physique 2019 in open category and stood 5th placed in the Federation Cup 2020, while Solan Jajo participated in Junior Miss India in 2022.

Robert is an international medallist himself and trained the two girls at Royal Gymnasium, Phungreitang in the heart of Ukhrul town, a gym that has so far produced as many as three international athletes each from Moreh and Ukhrul.

Solimla and Solan completed their class XII from Sacred Heart Hr. Sec School and Alice Christian Higher Secondary School, Ukhrul respectively and both came in second division.

Solan hails from Leishi village while Solimla Jajo is from Kasom khullen in Kamjong district.

The 54th edition of the Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Competition, 2022 is being held at the island of Maldives and organised by the Bodybuilding Association of Maldives (BBAM) and sanctioned by the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation.

The event, held from July 15-21, is supported by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Republic of Maldives in collaboration with the Maldives Olympic Committee.

Meanwhile, Somipam Vashum, president of Raphei Katamnao Long congratulated the two girls, stating, "The RKL is overwhelmed with Solimla and Solan for lifting the image of the state and the community and wish them brighter and greater achievements in their future endeavours”.
