'Rampant corruption, inexecution of central schemes have compelled like-minded citizens to support BJP'

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has claimed that there is a "mass exodus" of people from different political parties to the party in Garo Hills in Meghalaya.

Hundreds of individuals from different communities have joined BJP on Sunday, Meghalaya BJP vice president and MDC from Tura Bernard N Marak said.

“Rampant corruption and inexecution of the central schemes have compelled like-minded citizens to support BJP as they see it as a hope for the people of Hill areas as well as the plain belt areas of Garo Hills,” he also said.

Marak then said that hundreds of senior citizens and young supporters of other political parties from Mahendraganj and other areas came in buses and private vehicles came to Tura to join BJP and extend support to BJP.

They have expressed their dissatisfaction over non-delivery of schemes and expressed their  willingness to be part of world's biggest political party, he added

The joining ceremony was attended by district president of the party, Daulat Chada Marak, youth president, Anish Sangma, South Tura president, Rabi T Sangma, Tingku Marak and others.
