Meghalaya will officially launch its state's anthem, after 52 years of statehood.
Announcing this on Friday Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said, “I am very happy to announce to all of you that the official Meghalaya state anthem has been approved by the state cabinet today.”
Sangma informed that he will be officially launching the state’s anthem during the Meghalaya Day celebration on Saturday.
“This is indeed a very proud and happy moment for us because the state has been without a state anthem for the last 52 years,” he remarked.
“I am thankful to the Arts and Culture department and all the individuals who have been involved in creating the state anthem would like to thank them for all the efforts that have been put in including the lyrics that were written including the tune that was made and many people have been involved in it,” the chief minister also said.
