DREAM mission to make Meghalaya drug-free soon

The Drugs Reduction, Elimination and Action Mission (DREAM) was approved by the Meghalaya cabinet on Wednesday.

The Meghalaya government is all set to implement its “DREAM” mission of making Meghalaya drug-free.

The Drugs Reduction, Elimination and Action Mission (DREAM) was approved by the state cabinet on Wednesday.

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma told reporters that the goal and target of the government through the DREAM is to ensure that this particular aspect of substance abuse is taken up in a more structured manner and in a mission mode manner.

“Hence, this will be worked by taking all different departments into confidence and different aspects of rehabilitation centres, of giving counselling along with working with the Police department on how to ensure that the inflow is contained and all other aspects that are to do with substance abuse have been worked out in detail in this mission mode programme and the objective of course is to make Meghalaya drug free,” Sangma added.
