ZU, Peace and Harmony Committee, DMN condemn Dimdailong incident

The Zeliangrong Union (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) and Peace and Harmony Committee Dimdailong, Mission Lane and Namthanpung (DMN) have strongly condemned the incident where a shop at Dimdailong Kabui colony near Tribal Market, Imphal East was burned on Friday at around 9.30 pm.

Pointing fingers at the security personnel of RAF/CRPF, the union in a release on Saturday said that the localities doused the alrming fire outbreak from extensive damage. ZU cautioned that such irresponsible activities will create more flare up in the prevailing sensitive situation of the state.

As per information culled from the spot, the incident happened under the influence of intoxication, the ZU (AMN) said and appreciated the authorities concerned for swift action of suspension of those perpetrators.

ZU (AMN) demanded the authorities concerned to award punitive action accordingly and also terminate the perpetrators who were involved in the mindless activities in order to prevent such ugly episodes timely which may jeopardize the situation as well as create trust deficit among different ethnic communities.

ZU (AMN) also appealed to all the people of Manipur to abstain from spreading rumours and derogatory language which may ignite the situation and hurt the sentiment of other communities in such unrest.

The Peace and Harmony Committee Dimdailong, Mission Lane and Namthanpung (DMN) also strongly condemned the incident. 

In a release, the committee drew the attention of the government to take up steps to avoid such untoward incidents from happening in the future.
