A press release by the Information and Publicity Wings of the students’ body said that the people are alarmed and are enraged at the sudden rise in crime and crime-related activities from arms groups from other parts of the state. It cited a murder and monetary demand to Churachandpur District Private School Association's members and Lamka Government College as examples.

“Unwanted underground activities such as murder and extortion are thing of that past and should remain so, which we condemn, and see it as an attempt at creating instability and an environment of intimidation and panic”, the ZSF said and appealed to the Police and Law enforcement agencies to take such instances of murder and attempt of extortion with utmost seriousness and urgency.
