World Toilet Day 2022: 'Swachhta Run’ flagged off in Churachandpur

The Swachhta run was held early in the morning where the 'Swachhta Pledge' was recited and administered by Saikot MLA Paolienlal Haokip to the more than 50 participants.

On the occasion of World Toilet Day, a 'Swachhta Run', a run for Sampoorna Swachhta or complete sanitation, was flagged off on Saturday by Saikot MLA Paolienlal Haokip at his residence located at Molnom, Churachandpur. 

Participants ran till Peace Ground in Tuibong where they are presented with participation certificate.

The MLA led the run which was organised by the Public Health Engineering Department, Churachandpur led by its Executive Engineer John Thanglienmang.

The Swachhta run was held early in the morning where the 'Swachhta Pledge' was recited and administered by the MLA to the more than 50 participants.

The participants also pledged that they will segregate their (household, shops, establishment) waste in two dustbins - wet waste in green and dry waste in blue - as their contribution to the Swachh Bharat Mission.

World Toilet Day is an official United Nations international observance day on 19 November to inspire action to tackle the global sanitation crisis.
