The 10-day World Entrepreneurs’ Day 2023, jointly organised by the Manipur Institute of Management Studies (MIMS), Manipur University, Imphal, and State Swavalambii Bharat Abhiyan, Manipur Branch, concluded on Thursday at the university’s court hall. The observation kicked off on August 21, 2023.
Speaking at the occasion, Manipur University registrar W Chandbabu stated that entrepreneurs play crucial roles in boosting the economic trajectory of the country. He mentioned that the seeds of entrepreneurship in Manipur was sowed around 20 years ago in Manipur.
But now, entrepreneurship is thriving in the small frontier state with numerous young innovators coming out with numerous resourceful products, he added. He highlighted that Swavalambi Abhiyan was an initiative to make India a self-reliant country.
“The initiative aims to launch India to the economic forefront by creating an economically sustainable environment in every corner of the country,” he said.
He also informed that Employment Generation Centres would be opened at all districts across the country under the initiative. By doing so the campaign aims to engage with youths of the nation and provide employment opportunities, he added.
Manipur University vice chancellor professor N Lokendra, dean of School of Social Sciences, MU professor Th Purnima, MSME National Awardee RK Purnima, founder of Nelsurock Enterprise OPC Pvt Ltd Manoharmayum Nelson Sharma, Manipur Shopping dot com and Maraah founder Swati Thounaojam, Eco Warriors proprietor Khundongbam Roshan, JCRE skill solution MD L Niranjan and director of MIMS, MU professor L Prabhakar among others attended the concluding function.
