Woman found dead in Bishnupur

The body has been kept at RIMS mortuary and the body is starting to decompose as it has not been identified by anyone, police said.

A female suspected to be mentally challenged was found dead on the roadside of Tiddim road at Malom Tuliyaima Awang near Ebudhou Pakhangba Temple, Bishnupur district.

A statement issued by the Officer in Charge (OC), Nambol Police station stated that the deceased was found dead at around 4.30pm on Saturday and the cause of death is uncertain.

According to the police, the body has been kept at RIMS mortuary and the body is starting to decompose as it has not been identified by anyone.

RIMS mortuary authority said that the decomposed body is likely to cause health hazard to the staff of the mortuary as well as to the people residing nearby.

As such, the OC notified that the body will be disposed of with the permission of District Magistrate, Imphal West unless it is identified or claimed by anybody on or before 1 pm of April 11.

The body is slim in build, about 5ft tall, must be 65 years of age, swarthy in complexion, face shape is oval, has long and black with grey hair with a pierced ear, and has a mole on the right forehead.
