A woman riding a scooter died after being run over by a truck near Chingamakhong Traffic Point under Singjamei Police Station, Imphal West around 12 am Monday.

The accident victim was rushed to RIMS but succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. The deceased has been identified as one Thongam ningol Manjina, 40, wife of Sapam Deepak from Singjamei Makha Sorokhaibam Leikai, Imphal West.
According to police, the truck (Tata Tipper - MN01AA-5329) was coming from the Thoubal side and the scooter (TVS -MN01AE-9935) was coming from Chingamakha.

Singjamei Police Station has registered a case against the truck driver while the truck has been seized. The body has been kept at RIMS Mortuary for post-mortem which will be conducted on Tuesday.
