A woman accused of stealing a sum of Rs 1,50,000 was arrested by teams of Lamphel Police Station led by OC Lamphel inspector Khogendro Pangambam at 1 pm Saturday.

The accused has been identified as one Hoinei Gangte alias Neinei ,61, wife of Kaisat Gangte of Kangchup Ponlien village, Kangpokpi district. The sum of Rs 1,50,000 was stolen from an iron cupboard of one RK Devendra from Chingmeirong Khongnang ani karak, opposite ISBT on October 5.
And a sum of Rs 3,00,000 was seized from her residence.

Lamphel police has lodged FIR No 268(12)2022 U/S 380 in connection with the case. She has been remanded in police custody till Tuesday.
