Withdraw holding of normal increment, appeals Lecturers’ association

All Manipur Government Higher Secondary Regularised Lecturers’ Association (AMGHSRLA) on Tuesday appealed to the authorities concerned not to keep normal increments on hold and urged to provide a time frame to train the untrained lecturers.

A release issued by AMGHSRLA appealed for the withdrawal of the holding of normal increment, stating that there was no mention of compulsory of B Ed in the rules and regulations at the time of appointment. It also appealed to the authorities concerned to provide a time frame for the completion of training of the untrained lecturers.

Mentioning the Manipur Services (Revised Pay) 5th Amendment Rules 2022, it expressed concern on the remark column of Serial no 15 which stated that normal increment will be provided from the date of passing the B Ed examination.

It further pointed out that B Ed training had been compulsory for the promotion to vice principal but not for the appointment of lecturers.

The release stated that the DM College of Teacher Education of Government Deputation provides only 50 seats for B Ed training. It further appealed to the authorities concerned to establish training centres and provide training programmes for the lecturers at the earliest.
