In a press conference held at Manipur Press Club on Friday, Sharatkumar, who had prepared to contest the ensuing election from Jiribam assembly constituency, said that despite being an active leader of BJP for so many years, he unfortunately did not get the party ticket. However, he does not feel any resentment towards the party, he said.

The BJP member said that as an ethical party leader, there is no objection in the party ticket list as it was prepared after conducting surveys minutely.

It was unfortunate that a senior politician from Wangkhei assembly constituency criticised the BJP in regard to his not getting the ticket, he said.  He further appealed to the people of the state not to speak about the matter.
