Khwairamband Ima Keithel Joint Coordinating Committee on Friday demanded the state government to clarify how the long stranded security forces at Pallel were suddenly deployed in Moreh only after SDPO Anand’s death.
“We extend our condolences to the departed soul but how did they manage to reach Moreh only after he died. If they could have forced their way to Moreh, why did not they do so earlier?” the committee questioned.
Speaking to the media at Manipur Press Club, committee convenor Laishram Memma appealed to the state government to drop their “whimsical claim of peace returning in Manipur.” It is an insult to the victims of the conflict, she added.
She maintained that peace was a far-fetched question at the moment and mentioned that disqualification of the 10 Kuki MLAs would be the first step towards peace.
“They should be booked under NSA and thrown in jail for violating their oaths,” she said.
She further demanded the state government to convene a special cabinet sitting for the departed martyrs who died in the conflict.
