The state government has so far failed to implement the mechanism of Inner Line Permit (ILP) system appropriately even though the ILP system is enforced in the state, said a release.

The state government has failed to distinguish between native people and outsiders, it added. This has resulted in failure in fulfilling the objective to protect native people as mentioned in Clause No.7 of the ILP system, it said. Hence, the state government needs to clearly identify native people of the state, it added.
