As a part of Manipur's War on Drugs, a team of Imphal West district police arrested one person and seized 185 gram heroin powder from his possession at Mayang Imphal, Bengoon area at 3.20 pm Tuesday, sources said.
Police said the arrested person has been identified as one Amir Khan, 27, son of Nasir Khan of Lilong Haoreibi Sambru Makhong, Imphal West district.
Amir was detained during frisking and checking by the police team at Mayang Imphal Bengoon area, police said. They said that on checking, 15 soap cases containing 185 grams of suspected heroin powder were found from his possession.
Amir was arrested and the suspected heroin powder seized on the spot. The arrested person, along with the seizure, has been handed over to Mayang Imphal Police Station for further action.
