Manipur MLA Nemcha Kipgen has condemned the recent viral video incident and demanded ‘capital punishment’ for the culprits.
The minister said that as a mother, sister, and daughter of India, she has no words to express her deep pain and sorrow after seeing the recent viral video where her Kuki-Zo women were paraded naked and sexually assaulted by a mob on May 4.
Vehemently condemning the horrific incident, she said: "The culprits involved in the rape must be given capital punishment at the earliest without any delay... The attack on the dignity of women is an attack on humanity at large".
The minister then assured that she will extend all possible assistance from her end to deliver justice to the victims.

Muslim women condemn
The United Manipur Muslim Women’s Development Organisation on Sunday urged those concerned to refrain from carrying out such barbaric acts in the future and appealed to always protect the rights and dignity of women.
It also questioned the Prime Minister about whether it was his motive to aggravate further violence between the two communities and accused him of his one-sided move.
It expressed dissatisfaction over the alleged failure of the central government to take action to restore the peaceful atmosphere in the state.
It further appealed to all the people of the state to set aside all animosity and hatred and instead strive together to usher in peace and harmony in the state.
