Koireng-led UNLF apprehended two ‘Madams’ and produced them before the media late Saturday evening in Bishnupur district as a part of their move against ‘pimp’ and ‘madam’ in the state considering them as anti-social elements.
The two were caught after one ‘pimp’ was apprehended by village volunteers of Kadangband and produced in front of media through Nupi Samaj on Thursday.
Koireng-led UNLF spokesperson Pibarel Angomcha told the media the outfit has been working for the betterment of the society and that it will start taking necessary action against sex rackets that could doom the society.
Sex racket business will become one of the most dangerous things that could destroy the unique history of Manipur which is 2,000-3,000 years old. It will bring a huge impact to the women of Manipur who are taking a major role in shaping the society, he added.

During investigation by the outfit, it found some leads of involvement of bureaucrats in the business, he said.
Pibarel said the two madams are identified as one Moirangthem Bebe, 40, wife of late M Bishorjit Singh presently staying at her maternal home located at Singjamei Chingamakha, Imphal West and other is identified as Chinnei, 24, of Tousem, Tamenglong district.
He said the outfit will hand over Chinnei, who belonged to Tangkhul community, to a Naga CSO while Bebe will be given appropriate punishment by the outfit as warning and will be released.
Bebe disclosed in front of the media that she has been in the business for the past 5-6 years and confessed that she had dragged many women and girls in the business to work as prostitutes for her vested benefit.
She further disclosed that she got involved in the sex racket business after she was introduced by another woman from Nagamapal Singjubung Leirak, Imphal West, adding that a former MLA is her main customer.
Bebe said women and girls from various communities are involved, working as prostitutes in Guwahati, Delhi and various places of Manipur.
She further disclosed that she is presently providing girls to the customers in hotels located at North AOC and Khuman Lampak in Imphal.
Bebe assured that she will give up her profession and continue her life in the mainstream for a good cause.
Chinnei said she got involved in the sex racket business about a month ago just after she came out to Manipur. She also confessed and assured that she will discontinue the business immediately.
Police reported that on Saturday at around 8 pm, Bebe was found at Utlou, Bishnupur district near the fire service station along Phadibi road with a bullet injury on her left calf. After she was given first aid at Nambol community health centre, she was later referred to RIMS for further necessary treatment.
