A one-day mega medical camp organised by United Committee Manipur (UCM) was held at Nampisha (Ramphoi) village, Kamjong district on Thursday.
The camp was conducted at Ramphoi village community hall under the aegis of state department of Health services. A team of medical professionals from Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) comprising various medical branches took part in the camp.
On the occasion, village secretary of Nampisha (Ramphoi) Village AS Ashang expressed gratitude to UCM for taking up the initiative. He maintained that the camp will provide an opportunity for villagers to enquire about their ailments.
UCM President Joychandra Konthoujam highlighted that the camp had been conducted with aid from medical specialists from RIMS, rural health mission and testing experts from various centres. "The camp's objective is to reach out to financially weak villagers of the State with insufficient access to medical care," he added.
He further urged the Manipur government to strictly implement rules and regulation in all state departments and stated that good policy and programmes needed to be reflected on the ground.
He also pointed out that the construction of the Primary Health Centre for the village had been completed but not inaugurated. He appealed to authorities concerned to initiate works to inaugurate the centre at the earliest.
During the camp, free prescription medicines were provided to the villagers. Altogether around 200 villagers received treatment during the camp.
