The United Committee Manipur (UCM) condoled the sudden demise of Amu Kamei, a well-known social activist of the state, and journalist Leishangthem Mungyamba @ Chenglei, who was also a member of the All Manipur Working Journalist Union (AMWJU).
Amu Kamei passed away on Tuesday morning while Leishangthem Mungyamba passed away on Monday.
In a release, UCM said that Amu Kamei was an active member of different student organisations of the state and served as president of the Rongmei Naga People's organisation Asaam, Manipur and Nagaland.
Late Amu Kamei also took a stand for peace, communal harmony, unity and solidarity for the different ethnic groups of Manipur, said the release.
UCM also stated that journalist Mungyamba worked as a cameraman at ISTV network. He also worked as a video journalist at ANI and TOM TV.
Mungyamba’s demise will be a great loss for the state and in the field of media, said the release
The UCM expressed grief and prayed for his soul to rest in peace and also expressed condolences to his bereaved family members. He is survived by his wife and two children.
