Two women in possession of illegal drugs were arrested from Churachandpur by a police team while the drugs were also seized on Wednesday.
According to police, around 11.40 am, they received information that one unknown lady drug supplier was loitering around Kamdou Veng, Tuibong and suspected to possess some quantity of illegal drugs.
A team under SI Letminlal, including lady constables, rushed to the spot under the supervision of Churachandpur district SP Shivanand Surve; additional SP KH Deshorjit Singh and OC N Ingocha Singh.
The lady constable team checked and found two soap cases containing substances suspected to be heroin powder. One mobile phone and one lady hand bag (in which the two soap cases were found) were also seized. On questioning, she identified herself as one Niangdeikim, 23, wife of Kailunlal Zou of Thingkhangphai village and she stated that the supplier of the drugs is also nearby.
The team further arrested another female identified as Niangsiammuan Zou, 26, wife of Ginlianding Khaute of Thingkhangphai.
The two soap cases and other items were seized and the two were arrested. During a follow up action as disclosed, the team rushed to the house of a second woman at Thingkangphai and discovered one more soap case containing heroin powder. The soap case was seized in the presence of witnesses.
The arrested accused persons along with the seized items were brought to Churachandpur Police station where a regular case under FIR No.67(05)2022 CCP PS U/S 21 & 29 NDPS Act has been registered against the two accused persons for investigation.
