Two persons were killed in two separate incidents in Bishnupur and Kangpokpi districts in Manipur, police sources said on Wednesday.
While a man driving a van was killed after colliding with a car on National Highway-2, near Daili village in Kangpokpi district on Tuesday, a woman was killed on the spot after being hit by a motorcycle in Bishnupur district on Monday.
The deceased in the Kangpokpi incident has been identified as one Chabungbam Ishorlal, 22, son of (L) Ch Kriti from Sagoltongba Lansonbi Bazar. Two other occupants of the van were also injured in the mishap.
The Maruti van (without registration No) collided with a Chevrolet car (MN01G-7254) around 9.10 pm. The driver of the van was admitted at Kangpokpi district hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
In connection with the incident, Kangpokpi Police station registered a case and the body was handed over to family members after conducting post mortem at RIMS mortuary.
Meanwhile, a woman walking on foot was killed on the spot after being hit by a motorcycle (Royal Enfield Himalayan – DL 11SR-6060) at Malom Bazaar under Nambol Police Station in Bishnupur district at around 10 pm on Tuesday.
The deceased woman was identified as Maisnam Praba, 56, wife of (L) Nilmani from Malom Tuliyaima. The driver of the motorcycle has been identified as one Keisham Gulson ,28, son of K Rameshor from Utlou. He is being treated at RIMS after sustaining injuries.
In connection with the incident, Nambol Police Station registered a case and the body was handed over to the family members after conducting a post mortem of the body at RIMS mortuary.
