Two individuals were killed in a separate road mishaps at Chingamakhong under Singjamei Police Station in Imphal West district and Ngaikhong Khunou under Bishnupur Police Station in Bishnupur district on Monday.
According to sources, the accident at Chingamakhong occurred in front of a pharmacy, when an Alto car hit a day labourer waiting in the street for work.
The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Md Abdulhei, son of late Tahar Ali of Thoubal Keibung.
He was immediately rushed to Raj Medicity for treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries around 5:00 pm the same day.
Singjamei Police Station has also registered a case against the incident. Meanwhile, the body has been handed over to the family members after a post-mortem examination was conducted at RIMS.
Meanwhile, the road accident at Ngaikhong Khunou occurred around 3:30 pm when an Alto Car collided with an I-20 Car.
One Naorem Pakasana, 65 years, son of late Pukchao, who was travelling in the alto car, sustained critical injuries in the accident. He was rushed to District Hospital Bishnupur, however succumbed to his injuries on the way.
Bishnupur Police Station has registered a case against the incident. The body has been handed over to the family after post-mortem.
