Two persons died in separate road accidents that took place under Lamphel Police Station and City Police Station respectively in Imphal West on Friday.
A youth driving a scooter (Sujuki Access-125, MN06SG/3429) hit the backside of a truck (Hybra Tata Truck - MN01/9677) at the U turn near Eastern Motors, Chingmeirong under Lamphel Police Station around 8.30 pm. He was admitted at Shija Hospitals and later succumbed to his injuries on Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as one Lanjongam Golmei ,27, son of (L) Benjamin from Noney Part III, presently residing at New Chekon. Lamphel Police Station has registered a case in connection with the incident.
In another incident, a youth driving a car (Swift-MN06LB/6233) died after hitting a parked Tata Tipper near Kangla Park in front of M-Sector under City Police Station in Imphal West around 11.20 pm. He was admitted to RIMS but succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased has been identified as one Hijam Lenin ,25, son of Dhane from Langol Warok Meetei Leikai, Imphal West. City Police Station has registered a case in connection with the incident.
Both the deceased persons have been handed over to their respective families after conducting a post mortem examination at RIMS Mortuary on Saturday, police said.
