At least two people died in different road mishaps in Imphal West and Bishnupur district on Monday, sources said.
The sources said the accident took place around 2 pm, when a water tanker and a two-wheeler collided near Thongjaorok under the jurisdiction of Bishnupur Police station. There were three people on the two-wheeler Activa. One of them died on the spot, leaving the other two injured, the sources said.
The police said the deceased has been identified as one 16-year-old Laishram Naocha, son of L Kumar from Moirang Oksongbung.
Bishnupur Police station registered a case and the body had been handed over to the deceased family members after conducting a post mortem at RIMS mortuary.
In a similar incident, a 48-year-old died in another road mishap which happened near the exit gate of Bir Tikendrajit International Airport at around 5 pm.
The deceased has been identified as one Kshetrimayum Kiran, son of one Ksh Mani from Kha Potsangbam. Kiran who came in an Activa hit a water tanker from the back and died on the spot.
