A two-day Entrepreneurship cum Skill Development Training Programme under NEH kicked off at Khongnangthaba University on Thursday.

The programme aims to instil a fresh perspective among the inmates at the relief camps, a release said, adding that it is centred on preparation of improved quality traditional and other value-added fish products.

Director of the Research & Development Cell at Manipur University, Professor Chingakham Ibohal Meitei; Motivational Speaker & Life Skill Coach, Thounaojam Bonbihari Singh and Dean & Director (AYUSH) at Khongnangthaba University, Aribam Guneshwor Sharma were among those present at the event.

During the event, Mandakini Devi stressed the need to empower those impacted by the ongoing crisis through skill enhancement and entrepreneurship and emphasised the significance of self-sufficiency and community support, it mentioned.

It also briefed Bonbihari Singh’s advocacy for the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative and suggestions made by Chingakham Ibohal Meitei and Guneshwor Sharma for self-sustainability. Attendees also observed a moment of silence in honour of the victims of the violence in the state, it added.
