On the occasion, KSA president Sukham Bidyananda highlighted the vested interests of few communities to distort the history of Manipur in their favour.

“Attempts are made to forge an academic narrative to solidify their vested interests,” he said. He stated that the present conflict was a pre-planned attack to materialise their vested ambitions.

They are attempting to carve out a seperate nation founded on false academic claims, he added. He highlighted that the ongoing conflict was a multi-pronged attack to rewrite the very fabric of Manipuri society.

He maintained that the discourse was organised to rectify this wrong assertion and map out measures to combat it. Four prominent academicians from various colleges in Manipur took part as the main speakers during the first day of the event.
