Two arrested militants remanded in custody

Two arrested cadres of the proscribed PLA/RPF remanded in 13-day judicial custody till October 1.

District and Session Judge, Imphal West on Monday remanded two arrested cadres of the proscribed PLA/RPF in 13-day judicial custody till October 1.

The two, Leihaothabam Thoiba Sharma alias Tiken, 21, son of L Meiraba from Kaphei Lunchang village, Chandel district and Thokchom Tamthouba Diamond Meitei, 23, son of Th Britain from Serou Bazar Awang Leikai, Kakching district were arrested on September 9 from Jangnoi village under Moreh Police Station by a combined team of CDO Moreh and 5th Assam Rifles.

The combined team had also apprehended a minor cadre, who was produced before the principal magistrate of Juvenile Justice Board, Tengnoupal and placed at observation home.

During the police preliminary interrogation, they admitted to have committed the charge labelled against them. The court, after hearing the submission, remanded them in judicial custody for further investigation.
