A team of district commando, Imphal West district arrested two active cadres of underground outfit, PLA/RPF from two different places of Imphal East district on Tuesday.
The arrested persons have been identified as one Lourembam Bhumeshor Meitei, 50, son of (Late) L Ningthemjao Singh of Khurai Thangjam Leikai and Kangabam Sanatomba Singh, 46, son of (Late) K Ibocha Singh of Kongpal Laishram Leikai presently staying at Kongpal Chingangbam Leikai, Imphal East.
Police reported that Bhumeshor was arrested from his residence and Sanatomba from Khurai Ahongei Ayangpalli Road opposite JNIMS main gate, Porompat, Imphal East at around 1.10 pm and 1.50 pm respectively.
During preliminary verification, both disclosed that they are active members of the outfit PLA/RPF and presently working under the command of self-style major Robertson alias Chourajit of the same outfit from Khurai Puthiba Leikai.
They further disclosed that both of them frequently communicate with Robertson for various activities of the outfit.
Three mobile phones and an Aadhaar card were seized from their possession.
The arrested person along with the seizures have been handed over to Porompat police station for further necessary legal action.
