Torch rally demands release of three UNLF (P) cadres

Protestors say that N Biren Singh is unfit to be the chief minister of the state.

Heirok Apunba Meira Paibi members on Wednesday night organised a torch rally against the arrest of three Manipur People’s Army (MPA) cadres of the Pambei-led UNLF by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

They had recently signed a peace talk agreement with the Indian government

Protestors said that N Biren Singh is unfit to be the chief minister of the state as he did not have any knowledge of the arrest of the three cadres. They also urged the authorities concerned for the unconditional release of the three.

Strongly condemning the arrest of the three cadres and demanding their unconditional release, the protestors also shouted various slogans during the protest.

Meitei Community Joint Coordinating Committee, an apex body of 18 clubs in Waithou, Kiyam, Kiyam Siphai, Haokha and Thoubal Khunou also carried out a torch rally within the jurisdiction of the committee against the arrest of the three cadres.
