Saikul MLA Kimneo Haokip Hangshing on Saturday stressed on the imprtance of timely health diagnosis and treatment while launching a free Essential Diagnostic Service initiative in partnership with India's largest diagnostic service provider, Krsnaa Diagnostics Limited in Saikul.

The free ‘Essential Diagnostic Service’ was launched as a goal of the National Health Mission to provide comprehensive, affordable, accessible, and quality healthcare service to the citizens.

She said that diagnosis has not received much attention it has now, during a worldwide pandemic when detection and timely treatment have clearly emerged as the need of the hour as it helps improve patient care, contributes to protecting a patient's health and in some cases even helps limit healthcare spending.

Saikul is blessed to have such a diagnostic service in partnership with Krsnaa Diagnostics which offers a pan-India world-class diagnostic facility with the latest in technology as such technologies have revolutionised healthcare by guiding timely medical intervention, she mentioned.

The MLA applauded the role of the Central and state governments in rolling out various healthcare initiatives for the citizens, including those in remote areas like Saikul assembly constituency.

She also appreciated the officials of Krsnaa Diagnostic Private Limited for partnering with the health department (CHC Saikul) in rolling out free diagnostics services in the area.

Appreciating the CHC Saikul team led by MO CHC Saikul Dr John Lupheng for the citizen-centric healthcare services, the MLA envisaged that the team would continue to ensure the success of the implementation of free diagnostic services in the health centre.

She also assured to work closely with all stakeholders in addressing the shortage of doctors, nurses, etc. at the centre. She raised concern that despite the health centre being upgraded to CHC, it still remained at the status of PHC in terms of manpower and infrastructure.

Despite the shortage of manpower, CHC Saikul has been working towards ensuring comprehensive healthcare, affordable and accessible to the citizens, and several new programmes have been implemented in the centre over the last 5 years, Dr John Lupheng said.

The services at the Centre have been expanded to make it 24/7 services with functional emergency care and In-patient services, he added. He also said that several patients availed free cashless treatment under PMJAY and CMHT in the centre.

MLA Kimneo also handed over Memento from the MO i/c CHC Saikul to members of Rogi Kalyan Samiti, CHC Saikul namely, former MDC ADC-Sadar Hills Thongjalun Mate, president Kuki Inpi Saikul Gamkai  Seimang Lupho and president KSO Saikul Block Lamgouthang Chongloi in appreciation of their contribution in ensuring a conducive environment for the growth and development of the health centre.
