A combined team of Thoubal District Police under the supervision of Thoubal SP Sachidananda Soibam, MPS, rescued a woman who was abducted on Saturday by some unknown miscreants.
According to police, Thoubal district police received a tip off at around 10.30 am that one 51-year-old woman identified as Akoijam Sucheta alias Sana Devi, W/o Sorokhiabam Nabachandra Singh of Charangpat Mayai Leikai has been kidnapped by some unknown miscreants from Aripat near Nongpok Sekmai, Thoubal district.
The source continued that the kidnappers came in a grey colour Maruti van without a registration number and threatened to drop them up to Pallel.
Police sources added that after receiving the information, the combined teams of District Police Thoubal rushed to the areas and conducted checks. They also informed the control room of District Police Kakching to look out for the victim.
At around 11:30 am, she was intercepted at Sora outpost, Kakching District but the miscreants fled the scene, the sources said.
A regular case under FIR number 112(7) 2023 NSK-PS has been registered at Nongpok Sekmai PS for further investigation
