Thoubal Police recover stolen car

The said car was recovered from the house of one Khulakpam Kaboklei,70, wife of Azad Khan from Ushoipokpi Tharaorok Chingol.

A team of Thoubal District Police recovered one silver-coloured Maruti Alto LXI, suspected to be stolen, during a house-to-house search operation in Lilong Usoipokpi area on Sunday.

According to police sources, the said car was recovered from the house of one Khulakpam Kaboklei,70, wife of Azad Khan from Ushoipokpi Tharaorok Chingol.

Police said a team of Thoubal commando led by Additional SP (Operations), Thoubal Okramcha Wangkhomba, assisted by DSP (CDO), Thoubal, N Sadananda Singh under the overall supervision of Senior SP, Thoubal, Rakesh Balwal conducted the drive at Ushoipokpi Tharaorok area from 6 am till 7 am.

The team searched around 30 houses during the operation, in which they recovered the car bearing registration number MN01K/9093, suspected to be stolen. They also seized one duplicate Smart Card of the vehicle. Both engine and chassis numbers seemed to be tempered, sources said.

Meanwhile, the recovered Maruti car has been handed over to Lilong Police Station for further investigations, sources added.
