A team of Thoubal district police conducted a cordon and search operation at Pechi village on Saturday from 4 am to 7.30 am.
Thoubal district police comprising of OC/CDO, unit Thoubal with a team of CDO unit Thoubal, OC Yairipok Police station, team of Yairipok PS along with women police constable under the supervision of SDPO Yairipok and under the overall supervision of SP Thoubal conducted the search operation.
Altogether 80 men and women were verified and houses were searched.
No arrests/seizures have been made, however, on further checking at the surrounding foothill areas of Pechi village, one AK 47 rifle bearing No. bd 510139 with one magazine was found concealed inside a gunny bag at the foothill of Pechi village.
Moreover, 11 numbers of bayonets were also found concealed at the same place in an iron box (marked ypk-ps).
The recovered items were handed to Yairipok PS for further necessary action.
