Thoubal police arrested three accused involved in the kidnapping of a minor girl child at Yairipok Heitroipokpi area on Monday morning.
Acting on a tip off, a combined team of Commando Unit Thoubal and Women Police Station, Thoubal led by W/S I L Ayingbi Devi & W/S I Kh Sangita Devi of Women Police Station, Thoubal under the overall supervision of Jogeshchandra Haobijam, Sr Superintendent of Police Thoubal District immediately rushed to the Yairipok Heitroipokpi area at around 5.30 am and conducted a cordon and search operation in the area.
The accused persons, 62-year-old Sara, wife (L) Md Abdul Bari of Yairipok Heitroipokpi; 38-year-old Begumjan@Pangan Ibema, wife Md Abdul Haque of Yairipok Changamdabi Mathak and 20-year-old Md Naoba@lqbal, son of (L) Md Abdul Bari of Yairipok Heitroipokpi were arrested at 5.30 am, 5.40 am and 5.50 am respectively from their house located at Yairipok Heitroipokpi and brought to the Women Police Station Thoubal.
On investigation, the three accused persons admitted to have committed the offence. They were later produced before the Court of Special Judge, POCSO Thoubal on the same day and have been remanded for seven days in police custody.
