The historic meeting with all Meitei legislators and MPs is to highlight the fact that the people is above all including the chief minister, said leader of Arambai Tenggol Korounganba Khuman on Wednesday.
Addressing the gathering at Khwairamband Keithel in Imphal after the Kangla meeting, Korounganba expressed gratitude to the people of Manipur, emphasising their crucial role in making the event possible.
He, however, refrained from declaring Wednesday’s meeting a success, citing ongoing actions stemming from the plea.
Reflecting on Tuesday’s discussions with a team of the ministry of Home Affairs, he conveyed assurances from the ministry team, stating that the Centre’s commitment to addressing the SoO agreement.
Anticipating unity among Meitei legislators starting Wednesday, Korounganba announced their decision to avoid blame games in addressing the ongoing Manipur crisis.
Henceforth, they would act as one in solidarity with the people and not hide in New Delhi or elsewhere
In the event of failure to address the charters of demand raised on behalf of the public by the Arambai Tenggol, the lawmakers pledged to stage protests alongside the people, he informed.
Emphasising the top priority of preserving Manipur’s integrity and safeguarding its people, the Arambai leader asserted that these goals would be pursued at any cost.
