Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey and Chief Minister N Biren Singh have extended their greetings to the people of Manipur, especially the teaching community on the occasion of Teachers’ Day 2023 which falls on Tuesday.
In her message, Anusuiya said: ‘This day is celebrated across the country in memory of Dr S Radhakrishnan, a renowned educationist, scholar and a former president of India on his birth anniversary.”
Radhakrishnan recognised the importance of teachers who are the guides and mentors of the youth who are the future pillars of the society, the governor continued.
Every human being has to go through a learning phase and his mentor’s ability will determine the performance of his pupils and the traditional Guru-Shishya Parampara has yielded to the present system of schools, colleges and universities, but the basic principle of imparting knowledge continues to be the same, the governor said.
“The teachers are therefore, the moulders of our future and hence, their services need to be acknowledged,” the governor said.
Extending her greetings and congratulating the esteemed members of the teaching community on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, 2023, the governor said she has no doubt that they will continue to strive to provide for their services with more dedication and devotion.
In his message, the CM said, “on this day, we celebrate the wisdom, selflessness, devotion and hard work of the teachers, who educate and guide the young minds of their students”.
Teachers are the first role models for their students and have a great influence on the formation of the young minds, the CM maintained, continuing that they help the students in their character development, and prepare them to be good citizens of the society through education.
