Sports Authority of India, North East Regional Centre, SAI NERC, Imphal, Takyelpat organised ‘Swachhata Run 2023’ as an initiative of the Swachh Bharat Mission at SAI NERC complex Takyelpat on Monday.
Esteemed N Kunjarani Devi (Arjuna Awardee, Khel Ratna Awardee, Padma Shri Awardee) attended the event as the brand ambassador, stated a release.
She also attended the formal ceremony as the chief guest and L. Ibomcha Singh (Dronacharya Awardee and deputy director & in-charge, SAI STC Imphal) also attended as the president of the formal ceremony. Kunjarani Devi and L Ibomcha Singh commenced the event by jointly flagging off the Swachhata Run, it added.
It said that N Kunjarani Devi spoke about the significance of the Swachhata Run and also shared insights from her illustrious sports career in a brief address. It was followed by a Q&A session where athletes and coaches had the opportunity to ask her questions about her journey in sports. The run was followed by mass cleaning activities inside the SAI NERC Imphal, Takyelpat campus, it mentioned.
