Suspected drugs seized, two arrested in Tengnoupal

As many as 82 packets containing suspected WY tablets weighing a total of 56.255 Kg were seized.

Two persons found in possession of suspected drugs have been apprehended while the suspected drugs were seized on Wednesday and Thursday at Moreh in Tengnoupal district. 

A combined team of 5th Assam Rifles and Moreh Police arrested one Lenzo Lenchinjang Zou alias Philips, 29, son of Longlenhao Zou from Moreh Ward II, Tengnoupal district, Manipur.

As many as 82 packets containing suspected WY tablets weighing a total of 56.255 Kg, including the packaging materials were seized from his possession.

A Vivo Phone along with one Burmese SIM card; one airtel SIM card along with one Nokia keypad mobile phone with an Airtel SIM card and one Aadhaar card were also seized.

The arrested person and the seized items were handed over to Moreh Police Station for further investigation.

Meanwhile, a team of Tengnoupal Police Station detected and seized 55 soap cases of different colours containing suspected brown sugar, weighing 2.347 Kgs, (including the weight of the soap cases) from a Maruti Alto Car bearing registration No MN01AS 9469 on Wednesday.

The driver identified as Thangkholun Haokip ,23, son of Lhunkhosei Haokip from New Shijang Village, PO and PS Moreh, Tengnoupal district, Manipur has been arrested. The arrested person and seized items were handed over to Tengnoupal Police Station for further necessary action.
