Former Manipur MP Th Meinya Singh on Sunday said that “the state and central government should immediately take up steps to stop the series of gunfights going on in the state. The only way to conclude the war is to first stop the gunfights between the two communities and proceed in reviving peace in the state”.

He was speaking at the 6th foundation day of Old Age Home Langjing Achouba, Imphal west district held at the home on Sunday. He said that it will be unfortunate to conduct the Lok sabha election in the state during the ongoing violence. The election should be held in the state after reviving peace in the state, he added.
