After the Election Commission of India allotted Shiv Sena’s Bow and Arrow symbol to Eknath Shinde faction, state president of Shiv Sena, Manipur Pradesh, M Tombi, warned of legal action against those who use the party's name for their own benefit.

Addressing the media on Sunday at its state party office located at Babupara, Imphal West, Tombi said that on Friday, the Election Commission of India announced that Eknath Shinde faction will be the real Shiv Sena political party with ‘Bow and Arrow’ symbol.

Tombi said some groups, claiming to be state Shiv Sena, should stop using the party’s name. If they want to work in the political platform, they can set up a political party or can join the present Shiv Sena whose state head office is located at Babupara, he said.

If any individual or group continues using the party’s name for their own benefits, then the State Shiv Sena will start taking necessary legal assistance, he added.

Tombi also celebrated the announcement of ECI by sharing sweets among the office bearers at its party office.

Further, he also welcomed the newly enrolled 10 Shiv Sena members with party’s stoles.

According to a report published in a national media, it reported that Eknath Shinde faction was supported by MLAs with 76 per cent of the party’s winning votes in the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly election while Uddhav Thakeray faction was supported by mere 23.5 per cent.

In another national media report, Uddhav Thackeray’s statement was quoted as, “Before the EC order that was uploaded on Friday evening, the BJP leader and union minister and even the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra were boastfully claiming that the EC will give the order on Shinde's side. How did these BJP leaders know the order before the EC decision? It shows that all institutions are manipulated and misused by the BJP. The EC is behaving like slaves and eating the cow dung on the order of their political bosses”.
