The Manipur Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday condemned the Opposition political parties for allegedly using the United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF)’s allegations of having an affiliation with the BJP to spread further unease in the already tense situation in the state.
A release issued by BJP Manipur Pradesh vice president N Nimbus Singh stated that the allegation raised by the UKLF that it helped the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Manipur State Assembly Lok Sabha elections is false and baseless, and it is quite unfortunate the two prominent BJP central leaders were being dragged in by the UKLF’s false allegation.

Although the party has already released statements denying the allegation, many political parties with seemingly vested interests are continuously using the false allegation to carry out their agenda of defaming the BJP, it claimed.
It appealed to the opposing political parties to refrain from using the false allegations to further spread unease in the already tense situation in the state. It maintained that the BJP had been adamantly urging for the protection of the territorial integrity of the state against the formation of separate administration in the state.
The first step which needs to be taken up is the rebuilding of destroyed homes and rehabilitation of the displaced victim, it stated.
“Rather than spreading more suspicion, we should be striving together to devise a suitable solution to restore peace and normalcy in the state,” it added.
